Why should you go to New Orleans?

In August of 2005 New Orleans along with many places was struck by hurricane Katrina. A lot of destruction and devastation occurred, loved ones were lost, homes were gone, a sense of helplessness fell over the people of New Orleans. Since then many houses and buildings have been restored, community’s really came together to help build things up after the storm. Even though buildings have been restored there are still many people that have not recovered. Since the storm the homeless population has grown. While I was in Nola I had the opportunity to talk with a few people on the streets, each shared with me about the job they had and then the storm hit… they lost everything, house, Living supplies, job, and even family. There is a sense of hopelessness on the streets. People are lost and forgotten about. The ministry’s there are doing the best they can with what they have but they need you! They need you to come and show the people they have not been forgotten although it has been seven years since the storm, we still remember the people of New Orleans.

Will you go to love and serve the people of New Orleans? Will you give up a week of your summer to go remind the people of New Orleans they are not forgotten, that God is with them every moment of every day?
