New Orleans is well known for hurricane Katrina, bourbon street, and Mardi gras. One thing you may not know about New Orleans is there is a huge homeless population. Many of these people were affected by the hurricane and have never been able to get back on their feet. While on a short term missions trip to Nola with Adventures in Missions I learned how to love people in a new way. As a watched a group of young teenagers go out and love on the homeless population I was challenged. I had never worked with the homeless before and I was really kind of scared, but then I saw these kids with child like faith going out and loving on these people. I then desisted to give it to the Lord and soon enough I was praying for this man and ended the day by giving him a hug and telling him just how loved he was! The Lord really challenged me to love as He loves.
