When most people think about New Orleans, one of the first things that come to mind is Hurricane Katrina that hit eight years ago. After the hurricane, the state of New Orleans has come together to rebuild the city and community which was once lost due to the wreckage from the hurricane. Through all the devastation, Adventures in Missions has been working in New Orleans to help be a part of bringing the city back to life. New Orleans is an amazing place to do ministry. Through our work and partnerships over the past eight years, we’ve established some amazing relationships with various ministries locations such as Holly Grove, Gentilly, and Central City. Though the majority of construction and relief work from Katrina is complete, there are still relationships to be built and stories to be heard. In New Orleans, your ministry may involve opportunities to work with children through Jesus Project Ministry, do service projects for Bethel Colony South and St. Paul’s Homecoming Center, as well as being involved in the homeless community. There are always things to be done, stories to be shared, and prayers to be prayed for the people and community of New Orleans.
Is God calling you to be a part of the ongoing ministry that is taking place in New Orleans, specifically this summer?
What role can you play in being the hands and feet of Christ in a city that is searching for hope and restoration?
